The farmer and the two villages

there was a traveler going from a village to the next. between the two villages he met a farmer. the traveller asked the farmer that he just came from the first village and intends to go to the second village, and inquired how the people of the second village are?

how were the people of the first village? the farmer responded

“they were very bad, not hospitable, spoke bad to me, the worst people i’ve met in my life” complained the traveler

the people in the next village are the same” said the farmer. so the traveller continued his journey to the second village. later on that day another traveller went from the same village the first traveller came from and was planning on going to the same village the first traveller went to. between the two villages he also met the same farmer and asked about the people of the second village.

how were the people of the first village? the farmer responded

they were the best people i’ve ever met, they were kind and hospitable, i wish i could have stayed longer” the second traveller said

the people in the next village are the same” said the farmer. so the second traveller thanked the farmer for his advice and continued his journey.

Lessons

the first question which first comes to mind is why did the farmer say to the travellers that what they thought of the people of the first village, they would think the same way of the people of the second village?

past makes present makes future

your actions of the past will dictate your actions today which would then influence your actions of tomorrow. so most likely the first traveller was very bad with the people of the first village and that’s why the people were bad with him, most likely he will treat the people of the second village with the same ill manners and they will treat him badly too. whereas the second traveller was good with the people of the first people and they with him, the same will most likely happen in the second village.

your vibe attracts your tribe. your tribe meaning those people who think and act like you, are attracted to you , as the first traveller apparently didn’t have good character, his ‘tribe’ or those who were attracted to him also didn’t have good character. if he had a character of high morals the ‘tribe’ will also have high morals

do to others what you would have them do to you

even though the meaning of the common saying usually means be good to others and other will be good to you, but the opposite can also be said, if your bad to others don’t expect them to treat you good.

not only does ill mannered behaviour affect you but that negativity will bounce onto others. an impolite word you may say to someone could be the reason for them to have a bad day and affect other people negativity.
