3 awesome reasons why you should bother travelling

Travelling can seem scary

Going to a foreign country where you don’t speak the language. Leaving your family, friends, and even your comfort zone. Not sure what to expect in the strange land.

So why do people travel?

Here we will look at some benefits of traveling. Benefits which I have picked up from traveling to over 10 different countries.

Travelling broadens the horizon

What we only know of other countries, is what we’ve seen from TV, online or the people we’ve met. Going to a foreign land, you get an authentic taste of the culture and meet the people first hand.

The personal experience of meeting foreign people teaches you so much more than you would have learned from a book or word of mouth. You start to question things which you may see as normal. e.g. why are there people so friendly, why don’t those people drink? With question, you become curious and look for answers.

Travelling boost creativity

By breaking the repetition of day to day life, and leaving your country. You’re submerging yourself into a different culture. This introduction to new foods, languages, and even take parting in their culture makes you more creative. Compared to just doing the same boring, repetitive actions on a daily basis. When in Rome, do as the Romans do.

Out of the frying pan into the fire

By leaving your comfort zone, you’re automatically boosting your confidence. Your normal daily routine isn’t there for you to fall back onto. You’re forced to improve your communications skills by speaking to the local people.

It even helps build your character. Where you may see something, that is not normal or even may seem disgusting to you. But completely fine to the other culture. You’re forced to keep your personal feeling in check.

Life is short, have fun

One of the biggest reasons to travel is because it’s fun. Going on vacation away from the stress of your daily life is relaxing. No work, no deadlines, no bosses trying to get hold of you, the good life.

Not only is traveling fun, but it also reduces stress. Research shows that a good vacation can lead to the experience of fewer stressful days at least five weeks later. 1

conclusion

There are many benefits to traveling.

Traveling broadens the horizon and boosts creativity. It helps with building confidence. Not only is it fun, but it also helps relieve stress.

These are some benefits I’ve found while traveling. What do you think are the benefits of traveling?
